Kite Making at Seamus Heaney HomePlace
On Wednesday 5th April our P6 children had the opportunity to visit 'HomePlace' to look at the life and literature of Seamus Heaney. We were joined on the trip with pupils from the Woods PS as part of our Shared Education Programme.
In the morning session we used the poem ‘A Kite for Aibhin’ as a stimulus to create our own kites and to investigate ways to make our kite fly better, using our knowledge of forces. We also had time to explore the exhibition and we enjoyed experimenting with words, dressing up and completing puzzles in the Creative Zone.
