Scoil Spreagtha – Launching This Exciting Programme for All Schools!
We were honoured to host the official launch of the Scoil Spreagtha programme, a wonderful initiative designed to inspire and support schools across the region in celebrating and promoting our Irish language. It was a privilege for our school community to play such an important role in marking the beginning of this project for all schools.
A sincere thank you to Patsy McGlone and Denise Johnston for nominating our school to host this prestigious event. We were also delighted to welcome CEO Réamonn Ó Ciaráin, whose presence added great significance to the occasion.
Scoil Spreagtha encourages schools to embrace the Irish language in meaningful, everyday ways. Through this scheme, we aim to:
Support schools in incorporating Irish throughout the school environment
Provide resources that help embed the language naturally
Encourage everyday conversational Irish as part of normal school life
Support staff and pupils in using Irish phrases relevant to daily routines
Promote regular opportunities for everyone to build vocabulary and confidence
The workshops delivered yesterday truly brought the initiative to life. Every child in the school thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and we are extremely grateful for the enthusiasm, energy and commitment shown by the Scoil Spreagtha team.
A huge thank you to Minister McGlone and to everyone involved in supporting and delivering these workshops. Your efforts made this launch both memorable and meaningful for our pupils and staff.
Le chéile, táimid ag spreagadh na Gaeilge!
