St Trea’s Primary School Achieves Autism NI Impact Award for Education
We are delighted to inform you that St Trea’s Primary School has recently achieved Autism NI’s Impact Award for Education, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to inclusion for autistic and neurodivergent pupils and their families.
Back in January, our staff received tailored training from Autism NI and implemented a bespoke action plan of adjustments across the school to help build a more inclusive learning environment.
Christine Kearney, Autism NI’s Director of Development, said:
“We are delighted that St Trea’s has achieved the Impact Award. Through their training and action plan, the school has implemented a range of practical and meaningful changes to promote accessibility. By achieving the Impact Award, they have shown a clear commitment to building an inclusive culture for their students and will strive to continue developing positive, accessible options for their students.”
Miss Doyle, our Autism Champion, continued:
“Taking part in the Impact Award has helped us think carefully about how we support our autistic pupils every day. Staff across the school now use shared approaches and routines, helping children to feel more comfortable and confident in school. These changes are supporting all pupils to feel included, supported, and ready to learn.”
Autism NI works alongside autistic people and their families, building partnerships that champion better understanding, accessibility, and services for the autism community. The Impact Award for Education is available to a wide range of schools and educational settings seeking to strengthen their inclusive practice for students and their families.
